Last Saturday, the Miami Tech-Crypto community celebrated Halloween at the Le Rouge Club in Wynwood, presented by TokenSociety. The event, produced by GlamJam, was the latest in a series of events that are themed to Web3 and embrace NFTs, the Metaverse, blockchain, and tech culture. It was a chance for the growing Miami tech community to socialize, fantasize and practice broomstick riding. The party also celebrated Satoshi Nakamoto's anniversary of publishing his white paper on bitcoin and the blockchain on Halloween 2008.
There was a competition for the best costumes with highly collectible NFTs as prizes sponsored by Ethernity, Web3 Equity, and Alejandro Glatt. Some winners were the CEOs of Securitize, Carlos Domingo, and Ethernity, Adrian Baschuk. The DJ's Georgia Mafia and DJen "Degen" (making her debut performance) provided the music. Degen is an affectionate term that members of the crypto world refer to themselves and others. The audience was impressed by DJen's performance.
The party was successful with the sponsorship of several Miami-based companies that firmly believe in a prosperous digital future. Token Society was the title sponsor, along with UniteaMeta, NFT Promo, GayAliens, ThirdWeb, Securitize, Ethernity, and Areves – all companies participating in the Web3 revolution and with roots in South Florida.
Part of the proceeds was donated to Code/Art, https://code-art.kindful.com/, a non-profit organization that aims to increase the number of girls studying computer science.
